FAQs

Do I need to arrange my own ESTA?

Yes!! It is your responsibility to apply for an ESTA using the official ESTA Application Website. Getting your ESTA only takes a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Please make sure you apply within plenty of time of your departure date as approval is not automatic.
We suggest you print out a copy of your ESTA once approved and bring it to the airport with you. You will not be able to fly without an approved ESTA.

Do I need to arrange my own insurance?

Yes, it’s your responsibility to ensure you have suitable insurance for the entire duration of the trip. Travel insurance is a must in America because it’s one of the most expensive places to have a medical emergency. Make sure you have a copy of your insurance policy with you just in case you need this information during the trip.

What shall I wear?

The dress code is smart casual for the parks. Please wear suitable clothing for riding rollercoasters and sensible footwear as you will be covering a lot of ground! We recommend closed toe shoes so you don’t have to keep taking them on and off on the rides. Please bring suitable swimwear for Aquatica and Discovery Cove, keeping in mind that these are family-friendly parks.

Depending on your itinerary, you may find your evenings comprise of dining out, shopping or free time, this will be confirmed a few weeks before you travel, allowing you to plan your outfits appropriately. Generally, Orlando has a relaxed vibe so you can wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.

Do I need to bring anything?

The top three most important things you need:

    1. Your approved ESTA
    2. Your valid passport
    3. Your insurance policy details

Make sure you bring suitable clothes for riding rollercoasters at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens and swimwear for Aquatica and Discovery Cove.

We’ll be sending you a towel before you travel, don’t forget to pack this as you’ll need it to dry off after a day of fun at Aquatica.

You might also want to bring a light jacket or jumper for the evenings as the air con can be strong!

If you’re planning on shopping, don’t forget to leave space in your suitcase for any souvenirs you might want to bring home.

Will my electricals work in America?

Firstly, you’ll need to make sure that you pack a USA travel adaptor. For the USA there are two associated plug types, types A and B. The standard voltage in the USA is 120 V and the standard frequency is 60 Hz. It’s best to check your appliances in advance of your trip to see if they will work when you’re abroad.

Will I be sharing a room with anyone?

You may have to share a room with another delegate. The rooming list and details will be shared prior to departure.

Will I have any spare time?

This depends on your itinerary. If you do have any spare time this will be specified on your itinerary prior to departure.

Do I have time to go shopping?

Most of our itineraries schedule time for you to hit the shops for a short while!

How much money do I need to bring with me?

The answer to this question depends on your itinerary – once your receive this, you’ll be able to see if any of your breakfasts or dinners are hosted, if so, then this cost will be covered for you. If you need to cover your own, then set aside how much you would usually spend in the UK and Ireland for food and drink. There are plenty of different options available depending on your budget, and your hosts will be more than happy to offer their expert advise on restaurants and bars! If you plan on hitting the bars after dinner, make sure you have enough cash on you to cover a drink or two.

Your lunch will be paid for you whilst in the parks, you’ll just need to cover any extras, such as Dipping Dots or souvenirs that you might want to pick up throughout the day.

There are some great bargains to be found at the mall, make sure you have enough money to shop ’til you drop, so that you don’t leave disappointed.

Do I need to tip?

While leaving a tip at home is discretionary, in America it is expected: 15 – 20% of your total restaurant bill is the norm. It is also expected that you’ll tip in bars and if someone helps you to your room with your bags. If your itinerary includes a VIP guide at SeaWorld or Busch Gardens, we usually ask the group to chip in $10 per person to thank them for looking after us all day. Make sure you plan this into your spending money and ensure you have a few dollars on you to cover any tipping you may need to do throughout the trip.
