The West Africa Tourism Organisation (WATO) is a non-governmental regional body dedicated to promoting and enhancing tourism across the West African region and its surrounding countries. It covers a total of 19 member countries with 17 from West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo), 1 from Central Africa (Cameroon), and 1 UK Overseas Territory (Saint Helena). Its mission is to be a dynamic organisation of members providing quality tourism services & contributing to the growth of local communities in West & Central Africa.
